Birthday Blogging

Hello to all my friends and to those I haven’t met yet!

Well, today is my Birthday and here I am doing what I do the most (writing).

What is it to be a blogger? That depends on what you’re aiming to get out of it.

For me, it’s finding who I am and what do I feel is important or what might be on my mind that day.

Some do it trying to make it a living which yes it would be nice but let’s face it there must be a million others with that exact same thought, so the chances are slim to none of happening.

There are others who just would like to be like Mr. Sparrow and just be known.

The truth is if you sit down and WRITE then you are known!

You may not be famous, but do you really want to be? I see some that are and that life to me ISN’T really a life, not when you have to hide who you are every time you go out or can’t really take the time to read any of your messages because A: there are too many to answer and B: you really may not want to read them since with fame there is a degree of dislike as well.

If you want to be a blogger then just sit down and write about something that means something to you! It doesn’t have to be perfect or even something everyone will read, but if you put yourself into it then the ones that do read it will become someone that returns often to see what you may have had to say that day.

Everyone have a great day!

  1. Happy Birthday! Many younger people have become allergic to reading as blogging and YouTube has replaced it to an extent. Self expression changes but it concerns me whenever I see groups of people staring into their phone screens for social interaction. There is a place for blogs be it for self expression, sharing of thoughts and images, therapy, political commentary, or self discovery. Maybe, it is just a “I was here, Kilroy.”

  2. Happy birthday! I hope you’re doing more than blogging and are celebrating your life in the best way. Another great year of life is ahead. How are you going to spend it? Everyone waits until New Years to do a life check, but I think birthdays (or really any day) work, too!

      1. I agree. My family doesn’t make much of birthdays for adults, so I had a couple of birthdays that were lonely. I wasn’t living around my family and didn’t mention to friends it was my birthday, so…..other than a few family phone calls, it was not fun at all. Just me feeling sorry for myself. One year I ended up in tears and decided it was my own fault. I don’t like being the center of attention, so don’t throw myself a party or anything, but I do make sure I’m doing something I enjoy. That’s what I decided it was….a celebration of my life. Not because of me, but because God gave me yet another year and that is a great gift that deserves to be acknowledged. from here on out, I plan for it to always be fun. (LOL….one friend took me out for cake for my birthday last Friday. My birthday was in the middle of July. Who needs to restrict the dates on celebration, though?)

        1. I know what you mean, why just because anyone is older does it not mean as much??? I do nothing most of the time, I don’t go anywhere or hangout with friends.
Most are really boring and feel it’s just another day.
Two friends did take me to an escape room this time which I really enjoyed.
I wound up buying myself a cake 🎂
And that was about the extent of it.
