The Seeker

What Matters?

The sun kissed her body a darkened Island beauty.

The water caress her like a lover.

The wind captured her scent and spread it over the on lookers.

The heavens looked down upon her and smiled.

She turned as the sun began to set and a tear rolled down her cheek.

When the sun met the horizon a great blinding light made us hide our eyes.

As they opened again she was gone, only a rose 🌹 remained.

I picked it up and it crumbled between my fingers.

Something written in the sand where she stood.

Time takes away beauty but love never dies.

  1. Time can only
Take away the outer beauty that
    Is skin deep

    Not the inner
Beauty that glows all the brighter
    As she ages

    The woman who
Is lovely on the outside yet ugly
    Within will grow

    All the more
Ugly as her outward beauty fades
    Erased by time

    While the woman
Who is lovely on the inside glows
    Brighter as she ages
